Birthdays aren’t as fun when you’re an adult… that’s just a fact, ha! But I LOVE the idea of a cake smash to celebrate your big birthdays. Let’s make birthdays as an adult fun again. When this beautiful lady approached me about a gorgeous pink and ivory cake smash to celebrate the BIG 4-0, I was thrilled! With COVID ruining her chance to have a big celebration, she knew she still wanted to document such a special birthday. We wanted a really classy setup and session to celebrate and I think we nailed it!

We had the most beautiful floral cake for the birthday girl and with a fun glass of champagne to get started, it was time to begin her smash. Unlike the babies I photograph, her “cake smash” was more about some glamor shots and just celebrating. There’s nothing like feeling pretty and knowing you’re the center of a celebration!! And turning 40 is a GREAT reason to celebrate.

We ended the session with some fun portraits of her with a gold tiara, which just completed her look. I seriously can’t explain how gorgeous she was in the studio. She absolutely embraced the FUN aspect of this session to celebrate this big birthday and I think it’s amazing. I LOVE this session and I cannot wait until my next adult birthday celebration session!
